We are thrilled to share with you that we have begun our visa paperwork to move to Palma de Mallorca, Spain! We have been told that this process could take anywhere from 3 to 6 months, which we’re hoping and praying for the shorter time frame. There is so much paperwork to gather and prepare to send off and translate before heading to the Spain consulate in Miami for further approval. This is a long process, but while we wait and finish deputation, we are also looking around in Palma for a place to live, as well as packing and preparing our belongings here in the States. It is all becoming very surreal! Please pray for us, as you can imagine, this is a huge deal that we’re that much closer to being in Spain!
It has been a very long time since I've written something on our News Feed. Since our last post, we have gotten a year older, reached 45% of our needed support, had a baby, and our burden and desire to get to Spain has grown. I thank God every day that He has decided to use us in Spain. We, hopefully, only have one more year of deputation.
Over the past year, we have met so many wonderful people. We have made great friends; we have traveled thousands of miles, and we have been to so many wonderful churches! Praise the Lord for what He has done for us!
More to come....hopefully, it won't be another year before I post something else.
So tonight I am writing from my hotel room in Madrid, Spain. I have had such an incredible week. It has been a blast and completely eye opening. Before we came, I prayed that God would use this opportunity to strengthen our burden, determination, and heart for Spain. I promise to go into more detail at a later date, but He did just that. There is such a tremendous need for Christ in the country of Spain. So many without Salvation, and it's not their fault. They've never heard, and "how shall they hear without a preacher?" So many cities with no churches. So many people with no man of God. It's our fault. God told us to take the gospel to the "uttermost parts of the world" and we have failed Him horrifically. I want to do my part to spread the gospel. I have to leave Spain tomorrow. But it will only be for a short while, Lord willing. I pray that God continues to strengthen my faith, my zeal, and my heart for the Spanish people to hear the Word of God. It's the only thing that saves.
The last 2 months of our deputation have been truly amazing! God has blessed us in so many ways. In the month of June, we were able to go full-time on deputation, with only 1% of our support. It was quite nerve wracking, but it has been amazing watching God work. He has supplied for our needs time and time again. We have traveled quite a bit in the past 2 months. We have been in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. And in the past 3 weeks, we have had 7 new churches promise to take us on for support! That has brought us to 6% of our needed support. I am ecstatic! We still have a long road ahead of us, but we're excited and ready for what's next.
We have had an amazing start to deputation. God has been working... and quickly. In just a few months, we have surrendered and started deputation. The first month has been awesome! We started with 2 meetings. Both meetings went very well. It was a tremendous blessing for me and Jessica to be in 2 great churches with 2 great pastors. Our first church took us on for support right in the meeting! It was clearly God's leading. I had never presented, we did not have a display, and I was incredibly nervous. However, God helped and brought us to 1% of our support! We know that there is a long road ahead of us, but God is in control. We are excited to be in the center of His will!
